How one corner in downtown Pine Bluff became a hometown institution.
Back in 2003, Kendrick "Pop" Williams Sr. was walking through downtown Pine Bluff on his way to run an errand when a building on the corner caught his eye. He couldn't stop thinking about it, and before long, that building became Pop's Barber & Beauty Shop.
More than twenty years later, Pop's has grown from one man's idea into a full-service shop with a team of barbers and stylists serving Pine Bluff and the surrounding communities, including two brothers on staff who've become well known around town in their own right.

Pop has always believed that showing up and doing right by people is the whole job, that the difference between a business that lasts and one that doesn't comes down to the work you're willing to put in, day after day.
That mindset has carried through to the barbers and stylists who've built their own followings inside these walls, and to a customer base where kids who grew up getting their first haircuts here now bring in kids of their own.
For Pop, the real reward isn't just a full chair, it's watching other barbers and stylists build careers, and knowing the shop has always stood for something better than the easy way out.
